Company Timeline

Founded by Myer "Spike" Shandleman. Mr. Shandelman built many relationships over the years in building the business with his involvement in the community. "Spike" was: the Banquet Manager of the past Latin Casino; Director of Player Personnel & General Manager of the Camden Bullets of the Eastern Basketball League; involved in the Roller Chair business and owner of The Trophy House on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. He also played a part in the Jewish Basketball League, precursor to the current N.B.A.

1963 - 1978: Eddie Allen, an outstanding athlete that Spike took off the baseball fields of South Philadelphia. Mr. Allen worked at Spike's from early 1960's thru 1978, taking over the running of the business for Mr. Shandelman in the late 1960's.

Purchased by REP, Inc.

Moved to 514 N 2nd St. & opened a second location at One Penn Center.

Spike's Signs was created.

Developed our first online store.

Spike's has its own VIP Customer Show.

Spike's unveils a new logo.

Keith Baldwin, Glenn Hastie, Chris Shetler, Ted Westervelt and Gary Yost purchases Spike's Trophies, Ltd. from REP, Inc.

July 14th - Spike the Mascot is Born.

Won the Award and Recognition "Association's Retailer of the Year"

Opened a 24,000 sq ft. Office, Manufacturing and Showroom facility in N.E. Philadelphia.

Awarded the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Manufacturer of the Year.

Opened the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame & Philadelphia's Historical Society Preview Gallery.

 Purchased The Engraving and Awards Center located in Malvern, Pa.

Launched our new website to help customers more easily shop.

"City of Champions" Mural dedication - March 31, 2015 Created Google Virtual Tour of our facility

Updated the City of Champions Mural with "the Shot" commemorating Villanova U. NCAA Basketball Championship

Started The Great Game of Business and Open Book Management with our staff.

Awards & Personalization Association (APA) Retailer of the Year

Purchased Main Line Trophies. Opened up Main Line showroom at 835 Conestoga Road in Bryn Mawr, PA.

 In conjunction with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program we added the New "Super Bowl Mural" to our building on Grant Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia, commemorating the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Championship

In 1929 Myer "Spike" Shandelman started "Spike's" Trophies. 90 years later in 2019 we proudly celebrate our 90th Year in business!
